With an area of about 40 km\u00b2 and a population of just over 3,000, it was a town of farmers and ranchers until the 1960s; today, it is primarily focused on the service sector. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>But its history tells us that it was founded in 1300 by Jaume II. Its church, dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, was built 200 years later and renovated in the 18th century.<br\/>Its Cossiers dances on August 24 are famous. Equally famous is its Talayotic settlement of Son Forn\u00e9s, dating back more than 3,000 years.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>Son Forn\u00e9s is a BIC and was excavated in 1975 (the day before yesterday, as you can see).
